Argh, it’s like I can’t seem to build 60-card decks anymore…

Ever since getting into playing EDH, I’ve started to see 60 card decks either as competitive play decks or combo engines. My casual-loving inner Timmy has had a hard-on for EDH, and within the past two weeks, I’ve built two more decks, and started two more. I feel like I can just throw good shit that plays well together in an EDH deck, and it works, usually.

Once I get all the pieces for them together, I’ll have Kemba/Raksha, Sheoldred/Mikaeus, Niv-Mizzet, Bruna, Sigarda, Rhys the Redeemed, and Darigaaz the Igniter decks.

Maybe it’s just some sort of a phase. I have 60 card decks I love playing, and some that I want to build or fix up (going to splash black in my precursor golem deck for Corpsejack Menace and Increasing Savagery =3, and I want to try to remake my Naya ramp). It’s just… fuck… I’ve been bitten by the bug. It doesn’t help that EDH is the big trend locally, even if I never get to make the meetups at Denny’s due to my work schedule.

Nope, it’s not a phase. You get trapped in a world of EDH and you can never go back. :S

What does everyone think about the inclusions?

I’m quite happy with the product.  I think it’s one of the few marketed toward me. It contains a lot cards I was always thinking about getting that I simply never got, which is nice.  Plus lovely karn and sliver queen avoidances of the reserved list, which is super okay with me.

i really really want to make a naya colored edh and am looking at using mayael as my general.any suggestions? people tell me shes too slow but i dont think so with green running ramp.

Mayael is strong, but makes you a target if you’re doing too well.  Very fun though

Uril is OP and will get you bumped off the table before you get to do much due to fear

Rith is solid and full of tokeny goodness

Hazezon is fun, but pretty weak.  Also because it’s a stange older card, no one will expect that swarm of tokens popping out.

Jacques is bad but playable

Palladias-Mors is just a big inefficient beat stick

Johan is also bad

Mayeal, Rith or Hazezon are the only ones I’d consider.
